Esther Cheng

Team Head, Entrepreneurship Development, Knowledge Transfer Sub-office The Education University of Hong Kong

Esther Cheng is a strategist and enabler in entrepreneurship development, knowledge transfer, and innovation, dedicated to bridging education, research, and industry. She leads strategic initiatives that support startup development, innovation capacity building, and cross-sector collaboration. She is also spearheading the development of entrepreneurship and research centres in two of Hong Kong's leading world-class innovation and incubation ecosystems, Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks (HKSTP) and Cyberport, fostering innovation, talent development, knowledge exchange, and startup growth. 

Since graduating from The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Esther has devoted her career to the education sector. Her early work focused on promoting life education, religious inclusivity, and dialogue among diverse communities, fostering mutual understanding and respect across different values and perspectives. In recent years, she has expanded her professional focus to knowledge transfer and entrepreneurship investment, exploring how innovation can generate meaningful impact in education and society. 

Esther is also a School Board Member of a secondary school in Hong Kong, contributing to school governance and educational development. Combining her background in education with experience in innovation and entrepreneurship, she is passionate about empowering future generations with the mindset, skills, and opportunities needed to thrive in a rapidly changing world and create sustainable social impact.
