Bett Asia School Challenge

What is the Bett Asia School Challenge?

An exciting new initiative first held in 2023, the Bett Asia School Challenge is a Southeast Asia-wide competition for students aged 7-17, created to promote big-thinking and innovative ideas on a large scale, to help provide solutions for schools and education issues using the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The challenge aims to drive grassroots innovation in schools, and will allow students to showcase their solutions and ideas using four key skills:

✓ Critical Thinking
✓ Collaboration
✓ Creativity
✓ Communication

In 2023, the challenge asked teams of students to imagine solutions for today’s problems to help tomorrow’s world across three unique design challenges based on three of the SDGs:

✓ Life below Water (SDG 14) for students aged 6-12
✓ Life on Land (SDG 15) for students aged 13-17
✓ Climate Action (SDG 13) for students aged 13-17

Finalists pitched their projects onstage to a panel of judges at the exciting live final at Bett Asia. Winners were announced during an Awards Ceremony on the same day, with trophies and special prizes awarded for the teams
