An exciting new initiative for 2023, the Bett Asia School Challenge is a Southeast Asia-wide competition for students aged 7-17, created to promote big-thinking and innovative ideas on a large scale, to help provide solutions for schools and education issues using the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
To learn more, register interest here. You will be asked to submit the outline of your project ideas by 8 September. If selected for the live final, you will demonstrate your completed solution at Bett Asia on 5 October 2023.
Supported by iTrain Asia, the challenge aims to drive grassroots innovation in schools, and will allow students to showcase their solutions and ideas using four key skills:
✓ Critical Thinking
✓ Collaboration
✓ Creativity
✓ Communication
The challenge will ask students to imagine solutions for today’s problems to help tomorrow’s world across three unique design challenges based on three of the SDGs:
✓ Life below Water (SDG 14) for students aged 6-12
✓ Life on Land (SDG 15) for students aged 13-17
✓ Climate Action (SDG 13) for students aged 13-17
Students will work in teams of a minimum of 3 to a maximum of 5 on their chosen projects at school from mid-July and submit their final project by 8 September.
Finalists will be approached individually so that they can arrange their travel as early as possible.
Finalists will be asked to pitch their projects onstage to a panel of judges in front of all participating schools at the exciting live final at Bett Asia (taking place at the Athenee Hotel in Bangkok, Thailand) on 5 October 2023 in the afternoon.
Winners will receive a coveted Bett Asia School Challenge trophy and exciting prizes!
It is important that the teams are ready to travel to Bangkok. Please note: travel and associated costs are not covered by Bett Asia.
