Cher Ping Lim

Chair Professor of Learning Technologies and Innovation, and Co-Director of the Global Institute for Emerging Technologies The Education University of Hong Kong

LIM Cher Ping is a Chair Professor of Learning Technologies and Innovation, and the Co-Director of the Global Institute for Emerging Technologies, at The Education University of Hong Kong. He is also a Visiting Professor at the UNESCO International Centre for Higher Education Innovations. He has served for more than 10 years as the Editor-in-Chief of The Internet and Higher Education, and is now its Advisory Editor.

Over the last two decades, he has engaged major education stakeholders at the national and international levels as his research and development partners for enhancing equity, quality and efficiency in the education sector enabled by emerging technologies.

Jeanne Denyer

Campus Principal Tenby Schools Penang

 Jeanne Denyer has been the Campus Principal of Tenby Schools Penang since August 2019.  She has been a leader of three Tenby schools since moving to Malaysia in 2013.  Jeanne worked in schools in the UK for 11 years after leaving a career in the diplomatic service.   She is passionate about learning and believes that schools should prepare children for a future that is unknown.  This has culminated in the creation of a “STEAM Engine” in Tenby Schools Penang where students and the wider community can develop the skills needed to become changemakers.  She believes that innovation is not the same as invention and that by learning from and collaborating with others it is possible to find new approaches to learning and develop wider connections.   She is delighted to be part of the Bett Asia Advisory Group!

Osama Yunes

Information Technology and Development Manager Tajan Education Group

Osama Yunes is a seasoned IT professional based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, with a strong background in network administration, education technology, and development. He excels in leveraging technology to enhance educational experiences and optimize operations. Osama's expertise includes project management, data analysis, and leading teams to successful implementations. He is currently the Information Technology and Development Manager at Taajn Education Group, with schools in South West Asia and the Middle East, with future expansion in North America and Europe.

Osama has spearheaded seamless technology integration initiatives and empowered educators with Google Workspace for Education. Notable achievements include establishing Spectrum as a Google Reference School and implementing projects to enhance cybersecurity posture.

With a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and certifications including Professional Google Workspace Administrator and Google Certified Educator, Osama is passionate about sharing his insights to drive positive change. He is a sought-after speaker at events focusing on education technology, IT infrastructure management, and digital transformation.

Thanbeer Kaur

Pre-University Educator and Digital Learning Coordinator Desa Mahkota Form Six College

Thanbeer Kaur Is a Pre-University English Language Educator at Desa Mahkota Form Six College in Kuala Lumpur. She was honoured with the E-Teacher Icon 2020 award by the National Union of Teaching Profession, Malaysia (NUTP) and UNITAR International University. Additionally, the Rotary Club bestowed upon her the esteemed Paul Harris Fellow, acknowledging her unwavering support as a teacher advisor.

With a diverse background across various educational agencies, Thanbeer brings a unique perspective to the classroom, emphasizing experiential learning through real-world activities and learning English language with AI tools. She has served as a Master Trainer for CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) and a teacher trainer at the Institute of Teacher Education, International Languages Campus, where she played an active role in language and teacher education in Malaysia. Her expertise extends to speaking on topics such as using ed-tech applications to enhance learning, learning strategies and teacher professional development.

In addition to her official roles, Thanbeer actively engages with professional organizations, including Bett Asia, AsiaTEFL Webinar Series and the Malaysian Association for Education (MAE) showcasing her commitment to staying abreast of the latest developments and trends in the field of education.

Her journey also includes serving as an Assistant Director in the Language Assessment Unit at the Malaysian Examinations Syndicate and hosting an English Language learning programme on Malaysian television. Thanbeer's participation at state, national, and international levels, along with her involvement in webinars and conferences, highlights her versatility and dedication to the education sector.
