Dr Nurul Amelina Nasharuddin

Senior Lecturer Universiti Putra Malaysia

Ts Dr Nurul Amelina Nasharuddin is a Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM). Her areas of expertise include Artificial Intelligence (AI), Natural Language Processing (NLP), multimedia analytics, and AI in education, with applications spanning education, healthcare, and biodiversity. 

Her work focuses on developing and applying AI-driven solutions to address real-world challenges, particularly in supporting teaching and learning, intelligent decision-making, and data-driven applications. Her key initiatives include the Literacy and Educational Analytics in Artificial Intelligence Framework for Educators (LEAD-AI) and the Students at Risk Prediction (SaRP) system. 

She also serves as the Deputy Director of the UNESCO International Institute of Online Education (IIOE) National Center (Malaysia), where she promotes the adoption of AI and digital technologies in higher education. Dr. Nurul Amelina has led and participated in numerous AI- and NLP-related research and innovation projects, secured competitive research grants, and published extensively in these areas.
