Dr Husaina Banu Kenayathulla
Associate Professor Faculty Education at Universiti Malaya
Dr Husaina Banu Kenayathulla is an Associate Professor in the Department of Educational Management, Planning, and Policy. She earned her PhD from Indiana University, Bloomington, USA, and currently serves as the Deputy Dean of Postgraduate Studies. Her research interests include education policy, economics and finance in education, comparative and international higher education. With over 60 peer-reviewed publications, she has made substantial contributions to her field.
Dr Kenayathulla has held several leadership roles, including Deputy Dean of Research and Enterprise, Head of Department, Chief Liaison Officer, Risk Manager, and Course Coordinator. She has also served in various editorial capacities, including Editor-in-Chief, Associate Editor, Editorial Advisory Board Member, and Peer Reviewer for numerous educational journals. Notably, she co-edited a special issue of the International Journal of Education Development.
Dr Kenayathulla has been invited to speak at numerous international conferences and has served as a panel expert for UNESCO on projects related to shadow education, micro-certification, artificial intelligence, and the development of subject-specific quality standards in the Asia-Pacific region.
