Xavier Anguera

Co-Founder & CTO ELSA Corp

Xavier Anguera is the co-founder and CTO of ELSA where he is currently leading the research team in speech/AI. Prior to ELSA, he created an edtech startup that published speech-enabled ebooks for language learning. Earlier on he was a founding researcher in the multimedia research group at Telefonica R&D, where he pursued research in speech and multimedia processing.

Xavier holds a PhD in speech processing since 2006 and is the coauthor of over 120 published research publications. He is also the co-inventor in multiple awarded/pending patents and an active contributor to the open source community, where it is worth mentioning his acoustic beamforming tool called BeamformIt, currently used by many research organizations. Over the years he has participated and/or organised multiple scientific open challenge competitions in the speech and multimedia areas.
