Monica Zhang is Associate Director of School Development at Ray Education Group, where she leads cross-campus academic improvement, teacher development, quality assurance and strategic partnerships across an international network of schools in China, the United Kingdom and Malaysia. With more than 17 years of experience in international education, she specialises in translating strategy into scalable programmes for teaching, assessment and school improvement.
Monica leads the Group's AI Learning Community across eight campuses serving more than 12,000 students. Her work has enabled over 500 teachers and 3,000 students to benefit from responsible uses of generative AI in lesson planning, formative assessment, personalised learning and workload reduction. She also supports Cognia accreditation and classroom-observation practices, Cambridge and OxfordAQA partnerships, and leadership development for international-school teams.
She is a Microsoft Innovative Educator Expert, a PMP-certified project professional, a Bett Asia Awards 2026 judge and a Bett UK EdTech 10 honouree. She holds an MSc in TESOL from the University of Bristol and regularly contributes to international conferences on AI in education, teacher professional development and school leadership.
