Gary Husler

Chief Education Development Officer LeapEd Services

Gary Husler is Chief Education Development Officer at LeapEd Services, a Malaysian social enterprise, where he has spent years designing and delivering education programmes inside the government school system. British by background and a long-term resident of Malaysia, he has built his career around solving education problems in high-need schools, the places where the gap between what children are taught and what they actually learn tends to be widest.

His flagship work is the READy+ programme, a statewide literacy and numeracy intervention across Selangor built on diagnostic assessment, rigorous outcome measurement, and sustained teacher development. As Project Director, he worked closely with schools, teachers, and ministry stakeholders to make intervention hold up across hundreds of classrooms.

His practice spans programme design, teacher professional development, and leveraging middle leaders to unlock sustainable change. He holds an MA in Applied Linguistics alongside CELTA and CELTYL qualifications, and has published materials on the Ministry of Education's DELIMA platform.

Gary designs around the teacher as much as he trains the teacher, working on the conditions beneath the classroom, the systems and routines under the waterline, so that change holds long after the intervention ends. He speaks on literacy, assessment, and intervention at scale.
