Fazlan Bin Abdullah
Acting Head, Pre-Emptive Technology and Services Division CyberSecurity Malaysia
Mr Fazlan Abdullah is the Acting Head of the Pre-Emptive Technology and Services Division at CyberSecurity Malaysia, overseeing cyber risk intelligence, technology research strategy, digital information analysis, and AI initiatives. Since 2008, he has played key roles in national cybersecurity policies. He contributed to the CyberSecurity Act 2024 regulations and serves on several technical and standards committees. Fazlan led the Common Criteria Collaboration Program (RMK10–RMK12) for ICT product certification (ISO 15408). From 2020 to 2022, he was seconded to the Personal Data Protection Department as a Cyber Security Officer and Assistant Commissioner, handling data breach investigations and audits. In 2023, he joined the Ministry of Communications and Digital’s DERAS Task Force, supporting digital policy strategies. Fazlan holds a B.Eng. in Electrical Engineering & Electronics from UMIST and has over 28 years of experience in cybersecurity, ICT R&D, governance, and data protection.
