Dr Rayana Sanzana

Lecturer (Teaching and Research) Monash University (Malaysia)

Dr Mirza Rayana Sanzana is a Lecturer and AI researcher at Monash University Malaysia, where she teaches in the School of Information Technology. Her work focuses on applying AI and machine learning to real-world challenges across energy, sustainability, education, and intelligent systems. 

Alongside her academic research, Dr Rayana designs and delivers practical AI upskilling programmes, workshops, and learning resources that help students, educators, and professionals use emerging technologies with greater confidence. She is particularly passionate about making AI education accessible, engaging, and relevant to learners from diverse backgrounds. 

Her professional achievements include being named a Top 5 Global Finalist in the EY AI & Data Challenge 2026, winning the Code Without Barriers Hackathon 2026, and receiving second place in the WomenTech Global Awards’ IT Graduate of the Year category. She is also an accredited trainer, an active technology speaker and mentor, and a contributor to regional developer, education, and women-in-technology communities.
