Bernard Ow

Interim Head of Fellowship Teach For Malaysia

Bernard is a programme management professional with nine years of experience in Malaysia's education and non-profit sector, focusing on leadership development and end-to-end programme delivery. He currently serves as Interim Head of Fellowship at Teach For Malaysia (TFM), leading the Fellowship programme, a full-time fully-paid two-year Leadership Development Programme that equips aspiring leaders with the skills, on-ground experience, and network to create lasting change for classrooms, communities, and the education system. Under his leadership, close to 100 Fellows work closely with schools and local communities across four states to address educational inequity.

His journey began in 2017 as a TFM Fellow, teaching English at a high-need school in Johor Bahru. Witnessing educational inequity firsthand shaped his commitment to transforming education from the ground up. Since then, he has progressed through roles as teacher, coach and programme director, supporting both urban poor and rural indigenous communities.

He holds a Bachelor of Mass Communication (Taylor's University), a Post-Graduate Diploma in Education (IPGKTI), and an MSc in Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), where he studied as a Yayasan Khazanah Scholar.
