AI and the Future of Education with Google - A keynote moment from Bett Asia 2025

At Bett Asia, the conversation doesn’t stop when the session ends. We’re here to bring you the key highlights and insights from last year’s event, before you dive into all that Bett Asia 2026 has to offer.

One of the standout sessions at Bett Asia 2025 saw Danial Azizan Abdullah Henry, Country Lead for Google for Education (Malaysia & Brunei), take to the plenary stage with a clear and compelling message:

AI is already reshaping education and the opportunity to act is now.

Blending live demonstration, storytelling and real classroom examples, the session explored a powerful question at the heart of education today: what if?

Rethinking the role of the educator

A simple Rubik’s cube set the tone.

What began as a familiar object quickly became a powerful metaphor for modern teaching - complex, ever-changing, and under constant pressure. As more responsibilities were layered onto the role, it became clear just how much educators are balancing every day.

And that’s where AI enters the conversation.

Not as a replacement, but as an enabler - giving teachers back something invaluable: time.

Starting with two simple words: what if?

Throughout the keynote, one idea kept surfacing - what if?

What if learning could be truly personalised? What if high-quality content could be created for every student, at scale? What if teachers had more time to focus on what matters most - their learners?

Rather than prescribing answers, the session invited educators to experiment, reflect and reimagine - a mindset that sits at the heart of Bett’s mission to spark ideas and drive meaningful change.

AI in action: real classrooms, real impact

What made the session truly resonate were the real-world examples.

Across the Asia Pacific region, schools are already using AI to transform teaching and learning - from creating tailored lesson plans for students with diverse needs, to building connected classrooms in remote locations.

These stories showed what’s possible when innovation meets intent: less time spent on admin, more time spent on impact.

Empowering independent learning

AI isn’t just supporting teachers, it’s empowering students too.

With tools that enable real-time feedback and self-paced development, learners are gaining more ownership of their progress. It’s a shift towards more independent, confident learning  supported by technology, but driven by curiosity.

Perhaps most exciting is how students themselves are stepping into the role of creators.

With access to AI tools, young people are beginning to design solutions, build applications and tackle real challenges, transforming from consumers of technology into innovators shaping their own futures.

A framework for what comes next

As the session drew to a close, the focus turned to how institutions can move forward with confidence.

Three principles stood out:

  • Simple

  • Safe

  • Secure

Because while AI brings enormous potential, its success in education depends on thoughtful, responsible implementation.

So… what if?

What if one small change could transform how you teach? What if your next idea could reshape how your students learn? What if this is just the beginning? And when educators come together to explore those possibilities, ‘what if’ quickly becomes ‘what’s next’.

This is just one of many powerful moments from Bett Asia 2025.
