Where neuroscience shapes learning environments

Schools shape attention, memory, and the way people interact every day. In this session, Ana Mombiedro, Architect and School Neuropsychologist at Kidzink, explores how findings from neuroarchitecture, neuroeducation and environmental psychology inform the design of learning environments.

Ana will introduce Kidzink’s Enriched Environment Model (EEM), a framework that translates scientific evidence into practical design criteria across sensory, motor, cognitive and socio-emotional dimensions. The session will show how these principles can be applied across different curricula, cultures and educational contexts, and how specific spatial conditions can support or hinder learning.

Through an interactive format, participants will learn how to identify key spatial factors, evaluate existing learning environments and make more informed decisions when transforming or creating new schools. Join us to get a practical, evidence-informed way of understanding how architecture is contributing to more effective teaching-and-learning experiences.
