Patricia Koh, founder of MapleBear Asiawide, is a trailblazer in Singapore’s Early Childhood Education landscape. With over 53 years of dedicated experience in child development, she has played a pivotal role in shaping the standards and excellence of children's education across Singapore.

Before founding MapleBear in 2013, Patricia Koh served as the managing director of Knowledge Universe Singapore (now KinderCare), where her visionary leadership established a renowned preschool brand rooted in innovative practices. Her remarkable career also includes her tenure as head of the Early Childhood Department at the National Institute of Education from 1978 to 1987, during which she trained thousands of Pre-Primary and Lower Primary teachers, setting the benchmark for quality teaching.

From 1977 to 1993, Patricia Koh held the role of President of the Pre-School Teachers’ Association, leading efforts to elevate preschool education standards in Singapore. Her influence extended to her active involvement in the Singapore Government Parliamentary Committee (GPC) Education, the Ministry of Community Development Accreditation Committee, the Singapore Broadcasting Corporation’s Children’s TV Programme, and the PAP Kim Keat Education Centre. She has also contributed her expertise on the boards of the Singapore Kindness Movement, the Compassionate Fund, and I Love Children.

A passionate advocate for nurturing creativity, Patricia has authored stories and songs, produced a children’s TV series, and developed engaging educational resources such as workbooks and storybooks. As a grandmother of eight, she draws continual inspiration from her grandchildren’s curiosity and discovery, reminding her of the magic of childhood wonder. Her enduring legacy as an educator and innovator continues to inspire and shape future generations of children and educators both in Singapore and around the world.
