Dr Kritsachai Somsaman
Director SEAMEO STEM-ED
Dr Kritsachai currently serves as the Director of the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization Regional Centre for STEM Education (SEAMEO STEM-ED) in Bangkok, Thailand. With over two decades of experience in the Science and Technology Education sector, his career spans roles in national research, funding agencies, and intergovernmental organisations, including ASEAN and the SEAMEO Secretariat.
He has played a pivotal role in crafting guidelines for the application of Generative AI within educational environments, addressing both policy formulation and practical implementation in classrooms. Additionally, he champions the Constructionism approach to STEM education, actively collaborating with various FabLabs and Makerspaces to devise projects and resources that foster hands-on, project-based learning opportunities for students.
Dr Kritsachai is also dedicated to enhancing AI literacy across universities and schools, ensuring educators and students alike are equipped with the knowledge and skills to navigate this emerging technology.
