Dr Serrene Leong
Director, Professional Development and Industry Network Division Universiti Malaya
With over 20 years of experience in consultancy, education, entrepreneurship and the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) community development projects, Dr Serrene Leong currently serves as the Director of Industry Network and Professional Development Division at the Centre for Integral Learning (CITRA) in Universiti Malaya where she manages the university’s local and global community engagement projects, internship and student holistic learning development. In addition, she monitors the appointment of ELITE fellows (notable entrepreneurs and industry practioners), oversees the university's Memorandum of Understanding (MoUs) and Memorandum of Agreements (MoAs) with industry partners, and maintains valuable relationships with stakeholders. Apart from her current role, she previously led the Entrepreneurship Programme, fostering student start-ups and social enterprises while connecting business investors with students. Dr Serrene's previous experiences as an Entrepreneurship Consultant for a Government Linked Company (GLC) and her involvement in Social Enterprise Research in India showcase her commitment to addressing social issues, conducting field research, and supporting female entrepreneurship initiatives. Her dedication to fostering innovation and sustainable solutions underscores her valuable contributions to academia and the entrepreneurial ecosystem.
