STEAM Leader Tenby Schools Penang

Dr. Sathisha Goonasakaran is an enthusiastic educator passionate about innovative education. As the STEAM Leader at Tenby Schools Penang, she brings over 14 years of extensive teaching experience across diverse regions, including Johor, Kedah, and Penang. With a Ph.D. in STEM Education, she pioneered the integrated STEAM approach to teaching and learning at Tenby School, leading to the school's rebranding as the first STEAM specialist school in Penang, Malaysia. She also strategically planned a 75,000 sq ft, three-story building entirely dedicated to STEAM education. This initiative aims to equip students with STEAM skills, transferable soft skills, and human values, preparing them to lead the Fourth Industrial Revolution. 

In her current role, Sathisha is also responsible for networking, improving efficiency and connectivity for Tenby Schools Penang as a STEAM specialist school among universities, government agencies, and industries. She plans partnership programs and conducts CPDs, workshops, and hands-on training in STEAM, AI in Education, Makerspace, and Curriculum interventions. She was also a recipient of the EdTech 10 award, recognising the remarkable work and success stories of women transforming the EdTech landscape in the Asia-Pacific region, at Bett Asia last year.

Beyond the classroom, she dedicates her energy to empowering the next generation through collaborations with NGOs focused on teenagers. Through interactive mini-sessions, impactful seminars, and thought-provoking talks, Sathisha integrates value-based education and social-emotional learning into the lives of young people.
