A campus with a conscience: The Sunway experience

How can a campus provide opportunities for students to thrive academically, personally, and professionally, while also encouraging a broader commitment to social and environmental responsibility? This session aims to share the institutional experience within the Sunway eco-system on creating an environment that espouses organisational values of Integrity, Humility and Excellence whist encouraging and nurturing the concept of a campus with a conscience.

Using the Sunway Education Group as a case study to highlight the importance of the creating a campus with a conscience – the ultimate learning experience for a student. Key takeaways from the session would be exploring the dovetailing of the organisational commitment to the UN SDGs.

This session will explore the processes and activities undertaken to create awareness as well as nurture all within our campus (students, academics and staff included) in Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) to further our aim in contributing towards achieving the UN SDGs and aligning these to creating a campus environment that encourages and fosters a vibrant and caring community of campus citizens.
