Dr Mohd Sirhajwan bin Idek
Head of Research and Innovation Keningau Vocational College
Dr Sirhajwan Idek is an English language teacher whose Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree and PhD are in English language education. He is the Head of Research and Innovation at Keningau Vocational College, Sabah, where he has mentored many of his students in social projects and vocational innovations. He has introduced social entrepreneurship at his institution in order to transform his students to be young changemakers who can contribute to the community while forging their careers. He also led the research project which incorporated statistical thinking and procedures into his students’ final year projects.
He also has spearheaded a series of virtual learning sessions that connects Malaysian students and teachers with educators abroad while developing numerous classroom teaching strategies to assist his students in mastering English language. Three of his students have been finalists of Global Student Prize in 2022, 2023 and 2025.
