With an impressive three-decade career in the education sector, Willie Tan has consistently showcased his ability to drive transformation and innovation, making him a distinguished leader in education entrepreneurship.

Throughout his illustrious journey, Willie has held diverse roles in the Malaysian education landscape, including academic management, teaching, internationalisation, and strategic marketing management. His impact extends beyond borders, as he has initiated and successfully executed various educational projects across the globe, from Australia and the UK to China, Indonesia, and more.

In 2020, Willie assumed the role of Group CEO at UCSI Schools and orchestrated a remarkable turnaround of the UCSI Schools Group. This accomplishment was complemented by the successful establishment of two new UCSI schools within a mere three years. He navigated these milestones while grappling with the multifaceted challenges of the pandemic era. Willie's visionary leadership has set UCSI Schools on a transformative journey, reshaping education to provide a relevant 21st-century experience. This journey emphasises the implementation of innovative EdTech and the cultivation of the essential 5Cs - Critical thinking, Collaboration, Communication, Creativity, and Character - which prepare students for a dynamic and ever-evolving future.

Prior to leading UCSI Schools Group, Willie served as the Senior Vice-President and Global Engagement Director at UCSI University, one of Malaysia's top-ranked institutions. In this capacity, he spearheaded internationalization efforts, fostering partnerships with over 250 universities worldwide and establishing transnational education collaborations in 12 countries. These efforts have significantly bolstered UCSI's global presence and cemented its esteemed reputation.
