Ewan MacRae is the British Council’s Interim Technical Lead for the ASEAN-UK Supporting the Advancement of Girls’ Education Programme. Before taking up his current post, Ewan was Senior Fellow at University College Dublin, Ireland. He is now based in Bangkok, Thailand and since June has been seconded to the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organisation (SEAMEO) Secretariat. Ewan has worked in the education sector for over fifteen years, mainly on the professional development of teachers in the education systems of England, China, Thailand, North Korea, and Japan. He holds an MA in Development Education and Global Learning and a PhD in Education, both of which focus on teachers’ knowledge acquisition and the development of evidence-informed practice.
