Mr. Adna Rahman
Head, Entrepreneurship Villiage , Universiti Brunei Darussalam, Brunei
Adna is an entrepreneurial educator that highly believes that entrepreneurship has more to offer than just dollars and cents. His interests and passions are encapsulated to the work on understanding the salient features of entrepreneurship (success vs failure) and embedding those traits across the higher learning multi-disciplinary curriculum with the aim to nurture and develop students with entrepreneurial mindset, innovative thinking and IR 4.0 skills-ready.
Nurtured and developed more than 200 startups primarily from UBD and the higher learning institutions including promising community entrepreneurs and core education student-entrepreneurs, he evaluated his startup-mentoring techniques to design a new pedagogy for conducting entrepreneurial and experiential learning for his students. Measurable outcomes were identified when students have showcased growth mindset in terms of becoming more self-sustainable and to provide opportunities for employment as opposed to seeking for one.
In 2014, he was appointed as the Project Executive Director for the National Entrepreneurship Agenda (NEA), an initiative under the Ministry of Education, Brunei Darussalam. The primary purpose of NEA was to align and develop synergy from the entrepreneurship initiatives and efforts under the ministry from K-12 to higher learning level. With the continuous leadership support from Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD), as the premier higher learning institution in Brunei through its entity Entrepreneurship Village (EV), NEA efforts have been executed and materialized effectively.
Adna currently leads the multi-disciplinary team from UBD and other higher learning institutions in building a cohesive education entrepreneurial ecosystem (theory and practice) for the nation through the main platform of the ministry of education. He resides in Brunei Darussalam with his beautiful family of four, Lenny, Aiman and Mia.
