Rob Parker

Data Protection & Security Compliance Manager, Computer Science and Technology Teacher St Andrews International School Bangkok

Rob has been teaching Computer Science for around 10 years but his career in industry as a security engineer spans over 20 years and he has worked in most parts of the world including Macau, Hong Kong, Kuwait, Singapore and Thailand. He is currently working in a role at St Andrews as Data Protection and Security Compliance Manager, this role allows him to use his many years of industry experience and keep data subject information as secure as possible.

Rob specialises in Robotics, Cyber Security and Computer Science and enjoys helping his students understand many areas of Computer Science including how they can use VEX Robotics and other devices to become better Computer Scientists.

This talk will focus on the benefits of integrating robotics school wide and how schools can use different teacher skills to build a successful robotics program. We will showcase real life student experiences and have students talk about their experience with VEX Robotics and the learning outcomes they have managed to reach.
