Dr Ethel Agnes Pascua-Valenzuela

Director SEAMEO Secretariat

Dr Ethel Agnes Pascua- Valenzuela is the Director of the SEAMEO Secretariat, which serves as the executive arm of the SEAMEO Council of Ministers from 11 Member Countries that make up SEAMEO. Dr Valenzuela is the 18th SEAMEO Secretariat Director and the first woman Director of the SEAMEO Secretariat.

Dr Valenzuela developed a number of pioneering Open Educational Resources of SEAMEO Secretariat, started all Webinars during the pandemic and the SEAMEO Toolkit for Remote Teaching and Learning. During the pandemic, SEAMEO Secretariat reached over 2 M teachers and learners in its Online classes, masterclass, Webinars from Southeast Asia and beyond. She launched recently the SEA-TVET Virtual Mobility Platform and Disability Inclusive Teaching in Emergency Online Course funded by UNESCO Headquarters and the Global Partnership for Education (GPE). She is an International JURY member of UNESCO King Hamad Bin Isa Al-Khalifa Prize for the use of ICT in Education.
