Global Education Programme Producer/Head of Global Competencies Research, Global Incubation x Fostering Talents (GiFT) Adjunct Lecturer, Meiji Gakuin University
Mr. Kimura is Global Education Producer at GiFT, an organisation specilising promotion and development of 21st century competencies such as social and emotional skills through providing global citizenship education (GCED) and Education for SDGs.
Mr. Kimura works on designing and facilitating various trainings/programmes of GCED, curriculum consultation, research and assessment of students’ competencies related to Global Citizenship. He also conducts service learning lectures in Meiji Gakuin University, Japan. He is a co-author of the Asia Society’s research project on the “Advancing 21st century competencies in Japan” and Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology’s project on Global Competencies & Global Citizenship.
He was a facilitator for the UNESCO World Conference on Education for Sustainable Development Youth Conference in 2014 and currently a representative of UNESCO Asia Pacific Regional Bureau for Education’s Technical Meeting on Transformative Education and Innovative School Leadership. Mr. Kimura completed his undergraduate study in History from Nihon University, Japan, and postgraduate studies from Department of International Development, University of Oxford and Crawford School of Public Policy, the Australian National University.
