By 2030 it is forecast that 85% of jobs that will exist do not at the minute. Within Asia-Pacific education systems the importance of digital skills is vital but there exists still   major gaps in the skills and understanding of the these new trends and how to respond.  Economies who do not take into consideration the significance of these new changes may hamper social, economic and technological development. As current processes are becoming more redundant and disengaging, what are countries in the region doing in order to ensure their students are prepared for this new digital age?

Building a better social mobility It is clear from global research by KidZania and OECD that social mobility is a mixed success story at best, with experiences outside school influencing individual children’s progress. As a result, we need to differentiate clearly between schooling and children being taught on the one hand and education, experiences and learning by doing on the other. In our future thinking we must purposefully connect these two aspects in order for our children to make sense of the world, find purpose in schooling and for curiosity, inspiration and aspiration to be meaningful contributors to the social mobility agenda.
